I was very fortunate to receive another commendation from the Bradford Textile Society! A van load of us travelled from uni leaving at 6 in the morning to get there for the registration. It was a great day, the entries were absolutely brilliant and as this was my third year of attending the ceremony I really noticed the quality was even higher than last year.
I entered the British Wool Board category with my tea cosies!!!
I used dried plants to hand dye the mixture of wool, cotton and bamboo. This was very time consuming but produced wonderfully bright colours. The tea cosies are a mixture of hand and machine knit and were a collection I completed last year which was my second. The image above shows one of my exhibition walls!
I also used family photos to inspire the textures and pattern....

First blog!
I have decided to create this blog...well...because I have seen so many good ones and I would like to be part of this world of course! This is a strange concept for me at the moment but I'm sure I'll get used to it....talking about knitting, fashion, design, my current challenges and general exciting things that happen in my world....yeah maybe I will get used to blogging!
So as this is my first image to post....
I thought a pic of my favourite designer in the whole world would be a great start!
